And the house gardens were always abundant with vegetables. Mr Ensor planted trees; Spruce. Oak, Aspen, Ash and Cottonwood. 30 years later these trees are mature shade trees dotted across the property. There are a few apple trees, a peach tree, plum tree, lilacs, a culinary herb garden, fences, corrals and pens Tres Piedras afforded Ensor solace and peace while still being close to much of Northern New Mexico., and being in close proximity to the Carson National Forest across the road. Taos is 30 minutes away, Espanola is 50 minutes away, Santa Fe 1hour away, Alamosa in Southern Colorado is 1 hour away as well. Carson National Forest is easily accessible with world class rock climbing 5 minutes from the house. Mountain Biking trails, cross country skiing, mushroom hunting and other Forest activities are endless and 5 minutes away. Living a country life takes a commitment and determination to live with a free lifestyle that includes beautiful and unobstructed views as well as the pure white snow as we welcome winter. This house is wood heated which could easily be converted to propane but Mr Ensor always preferred wood which he harvested from the forest nearby. In Mr Ensor’s experience the solitude that this home has offered a profound transformation of self and self acceptance is available to anyone who is willing to take this journey. The transformation not only occurred in Mr Ensor himself but in the house as well. There’s plenty of room for anybody who has the willingness to live in this splendid beauty.
